One of a kind oil lamp, perfect for a storm. These oil lamps are made by local potter Matthew Gaddie. Each is hand thrown, decorated and painstakingly loaded into the kiln. After loading the kiln the door is bricked up and fired to a temperature of 2200 degrees and held for 12 hours. Finally a mixture of water, baking soda and soda ash are blown into the kiln. The sodium then becomes a “glaze” on the ware that varies from piece to piece, making each oil lamp a story of its location within the kiln. Thus the one of a kind oil lamp is created. We have grouped these oil lamps based on style and color to make selection a little easier. These oil lamps are not only a one of a kind keepsake they are also very functional.
PLEASE NOTE IF ORDERING MORE THAN ONE OIL LAMP THAT THEY WILL BE SIMILAR BUT THEY WILL NOT MATCH PERFECTLY.
